"It’s probably one of the reasons I’m so passionate about the work that I do with youth. It is that I don’t want to lose kids because they feel like nobody cares about them, or because they are struggling with their mental health, and they can’t get access to their health care because people don’t want them to get help because of their identities. It's also something I am passionate about on a personal level."

"This can be a very conservative county in the way that it votes. Sometimes we have had Democratic leadership here. I think that people really value knowing you on a personal basis and what you stand for. So like, if you actually sit down and talk to people, I think you’re able to build bridges in a way you can't necessarily do on the internet, where people have just learned to be really horrible to one another because you don’t have to look at people in the face."

"I’ve found affirmation in the community, but I’ve also found isolation there. I am a disabled person, so sometimes seeing people argue about whether or not it is important for pride to be accessable is hurtful. you know to me that people can’t see the intersectionality."
